That Off-Brand CBD Your Bought Might Not Contain Any CBD!

That Off-Brand CBD Your Bought Might Not Contain Any CBD!

The legalization of hemp has caused quite a frenzy in the U.S. as of late. With CBD products emerging from traditional brick and mortar stores to online shops, it’s no longer that difficult to get one these days. But with all the hype surrounding it, there’s also the risk of buying a fake and low-quality CBD oil product.

Considering how pricey CBD products are, you’re supposed to be extra cautious when you’re buying either in a local store or online e-commerce site. You must look beyond what’s being advertised.

With a handful of manufacturers and sellers popping up, there’s a chance you might find yourself purchasing something that’s marketed as CBD oil, even if there’s a minimal trace of it or nothing at all. For all you know, you could be paying top dollar for hemp seed oil, not CBD oil.

Be Sure to Read the Label

One of the first things you must acknowledge is that hemp seed oil and CBD oil aren’t the same. Although they come from the same cannabis plant, they differ because CBD oil has cannabinoid in it while hemp seed oil contains minimal traces at most. Yes, there are notable benefits of hemp oil for food and skincare, but that’s about it. So, if you are hoping to obtain the healing properties of CBD oil, then you cannot settle for hemp oil because they’re two completely different products.

If a product label says “hemp seed oil,” then it does not have any CBD in it. If the label tells you that the product is CBD or hemp oil without specifying the contents of CBD, it usually means there’s a tiny amount of it. The only reason why a manufacturer wouldn’t determine the amount is that there’s nothing in it.

When shopping for CBD oil products for the first time, be sure to read the label and get one that indicates at least 10 milligrams of CBD per dose. You know that the brand or manufacturer is reliable when they make the lab results for their products available for the public to know.

Take extra caution when you’re faced with clever marketing ploys. You may encounter terms like “nano-extracted” and “phytocannabinoids” that sound fancy and scientific. The truth is they don’t mean anything if there’s no CBD in the product.

The Case of Mislabeling CBD Products

Laboratory tests done in the UK revealed that about half of the most popular CBD products sold in the country don’t contain certain levels of CBD based on what’s written on the label. So, for someone who is inclined to believe what’s written on the packaging, you surely will be disappointed to know that you’ve been deceived. The problem with products with deficient concentrations of CBD oil is that they are less likely to have an effect.

CBD scams are prevalent in the U.S., too. There was this Clinical Toxicology report that detailed how a family administered their child with CBD oil, thinking that the product was authentic. It was eventually revealed that the product contained synthetic cannabinoid receptor agonist AB-Fubinaca instead.

Legitimate CBD Oil Products From Hempness

The good news is that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is currently reviewing the application of several products containing CBD. While consumers like you find it challenging to buy authentic over-the-counter CBD these days due to the lack of accurate and honest information on the label, it all could change soon.
